TOUGH DAY OUT IN FORBES
10 Sep 2016 by James Horsburgh
With a number of players finding it hard to simply get to Forbes due to flooding and detours, today was always going to be a tough road trip.
Our 3rds fought hard in a match that turned lively at times with both Bulldogs & Emus showing plenty of passion. At the end of the game there was no doubt what was on the line with both teams throwing absolutely everything that they had at the opposition. Fortunately Bulldogs proved too strong and in doing so secured a Grand Final birth for the 2nd year in a row.
In 1st Grade Bulldogs started strongly and at one stage lead 9–8. Unfortunately the Forbes defence proved to be the difference. Following a penalty goal the Platypi then scored out wide and converted to finish the game running out 18–9 winners.
Congratulations to Phil, Rabs and the boys who showed plenty of guts and determination throughout the season and with a never say die attitude that gave Bulldog supporters a game they will never forget coming back from 29 – 0 down and in doing so defeating Orange City in the Semis.
Next week sees the Grand Final played at Orange Emus with both 3rd XV and our undefeated Colts flying the Bulldogs flag.
10:50am Colts – Bulldogs v CSU
12.10pm 3rds – Bulldogs v Dubbo Roos
